All-party meet on Lokayukta

The State government has convened a meeting of leaders of all parties in Bengaluru on Thursday to discuss “ways to strengthen” the Lokayukta.

The government has requested Speaker Kagodu Thimmappa to preside over the meeting to be held in the Vidhana Soudha in the afternoon, official sources said.

The meeting is being held in the backdrop of accusations from various quarters that the institution of Lokayukta is being diluted with the creation of the Anti-Corruption Bureau.
