DD to relay chemistry coaching lessons till the day of exam

The Karnataka Examinations Authority’s (KEA) Vikasana programme, which provides coaching for CET aspirants through Doordarshan television channel, will relay coaching lessons related to only chemistry till April 12.

“Since the chemistry re-examination has been scheduled for April 12, we are of the opinion that children will concentrate more on this subject than others. So, this is a way by which they will prepare for the re-examination as also the CET,” KEA administrative officer S N Gangadhariah said.

The Vikasana programme began on Monday and will continue till the CET examinations end in May.

The usual schedule of the Vikasana is for various science subjects – physics, chemistry, mathematics and biology – to be taught without any particular order, said Gangadhariah. A number of lecturers and subject experts conduct the programme.

“We would have first taught physics and then chemistry or followed other order of things. However, knowing that the chemistry re-examination would take place on April 12, I do not think students would concentrate on any other subject,” he added.

‘Good move’

Principal of Government PU College in Hoodi, Ram C K, said the move to offer chemistry coaching till April 12 was a good.

“Children will be more concerned with passing their chemistry examinations and any tips at this stage will be welcomed. Both rural and urban students will immensely benefit from the programme,” he said.
