Four girls drown in tank in Shidlaghatta

Four girls who had been to a tank for washing clothes met watery grave in Dadamghatta village of the taluk on Tuesday.

The deceased have been identified as Mallika and Munirathna (both 15), Nandini (14) and Nalina (11). The incident comes a day after for boys drowned in Rangadhama tank in Chikkaballapur taluk on Monday.

Police said that one of the girls slipped into the tank while washing cloths and the remaining three went to her rescue, but all of them drowned. The parents of the girls are said to be labourers. A case has been registered.
