CET-type exams to fill vacancies in agri dept

Minister for Agriculture Krishna Byre Gowda said here on Tuesday that rules will be shortly framed to conduct entrance exams on the lines of CET for the special recruitments to fill up 608 vacancies in the Agriculture department.

Speaking to mediapersons he said, the vacancies cannot be filled through the KPSC. The department will conduct a direct recruitment and has sought permission from Finance department also.

Byre Gowda said the Centre was yet to release compensation for the rabi crop loss. Though the drought relief team visited the state in January, the state was yet to receive compensation.

He further said that the government had released Rs 637 crore for the green house project and the farmers too, had shown interest in it. By May end, another Rs 400 crore would be released for the project.
