The incident came to light around 7.45 pm on Saturday when the Church watchman heard a puppy crying in the school corridor. Hence, he brought the school gate keys from the parish priest to free the puppy.

But he could not open the lock as he realised that some miscreants had damaged the lock. Later, it was found that miscreants had applied gum (m-seal) to 2 door locks of St Joseph Higher Primary School; 2 door locks of St Joseph High School; 5 toilet doors and one main gate, thus damaging 10 locks of the school.

Besides, flower pots in the school premises too have been broken and damaged. In a complaint filed with Kadri police, Parish Priest Fr Valerian Pinto said that the miscreants had damaged the church property with an intention to disrupt peace and communal harmony.

It may be recalled that a group of people in the region have been opposing the development works in the church premises. It may also be recalled that the District Crime Intelligence Bureau (DCIB) sleuths had arrested two persons from Kulshekar church premises on October 7, 2009, for possessing banned substance Heroin. Kadri police have registered a case.
