Seven people have been arrested in connection with communal clashes on Saturday in Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav’s Lok Sabha constituency Azamgarh.
The FIR has also been registered against 21 named and 200 unidentified people, according to sources on Monday.
The administration blocked internet services to prevent rumours from spreading.Additional Director General, law and order, Daljeet Chaudhary said on Monday that the situation was “tense”' but “'under control”. He said security personnel in strength had been deployed in the affected areas.
