Legendary India batsman Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun failed to impress with bat and ball as he turned out for West Zone against North Zone in a two-day inter-zonal under-16 cricket match here.

Tendulkar junior bagged a pair as he was bowled on both occasions when he came out to bat. Arjun, though, did manage to pick up a solitary wicket during his spell of 12 overs, giving away 52 runs in the process.

West Zone, who elected to bat after winning the toss, were bowled out for 194 in 75 overs in their first innings. North Zone managed to take the lead as they made 285 all out in their first innings in 78.2 overs.

In the first innings, the 16-year old arrived at the crease after the fall of the fourth wicket but failed to add on to his team’s total.

In their second essay, with his side in trouble after two early blows, Arjun couldn’t manage to stay for long at the middle, getting out cheaply.

In their second hit, West Zone were tottering at 31 for three in 11 overs when the match ended.
