<p>Telecom services provider Bharti Airtel on Tuesday announced the launch of its Platinum 3G network in Bengaluru. C Surendran, CEO – Karnataka, Bharti Airtel said, “This (Platinum 3G network) gives much better indoor coverage. It is powered by the dual spectrum band of 900 Mhz along with 2100 Mhz.”<br /><br /></p>.<p>He added that this service does not require any additional subscription, and is part of the network enhancement of Airtel’s existing 3G network.<br /><br />Platinum 3G network is available in Bengaluru, Mangaluru and Mysuru. Airtel’s customer base in Karnataka is 21 million. “Of the total customers, about 50% use data, and of them 30-35% use 3G. Our market share in the state is between 47 and 48%,” Surendran said.</p>
