JOIN USRickshaw puller kills wife
A rickshawpuller allegedly killed his wife by ramming her head on wall after a fight in west Delhi’s Nihal Vihar on Monday. The accused is absconding, police said.
The accused identified as Pradeep, 25, married his wife Monica, 23, two years back.
“On Monday when Pradeep came home drunk at night his wife asked some money from him as she had to buy something. Pradeep refused Monica and rebuked her for demanding money. An argument ensued between the two and in a fit of rage Pradeep rammed Monica’s head on the wall,” said a police officer.
Seeing his wife bleeding profusely, Pradeep fled the house leaving her wife dying in the home.
Police said that the landlord of the house informed the PCR about Monica’s death.An FIR has been registered in the Nihal Vihar police station and search for Pradeep is on.
According to police, Pradeep is from Bulandshahr and had met Monica in Delhi two years back. They fell in love with each other and after a while tied the knot despite stiff opposition from Monica’s parents.
Severed ties
After marriage Monica’s parents severed all ties with her and refused to meet her whenever she tried to contact them.
In the absence of support from her parents and relatives, Monica also picked up drinking alcohol, police said.
“Few months into the marriage Monica also became a habitual drinker. Even in the absence of Pradeep she used to consume liquor,” said a police officer.
“After getting drunk they used to abuse each other and fight for hours in their home to the discomfort of their neighbors.
“In the last one year, the couple had changed several houses as no one let them stay at one place for long due to their “wayward” behavior,” the officer added.
Police are also trying to contact Monica’s parents to find out more details about Pradeep.
