'I hope people will watch the movie'

From being one of India’s top models to making her way into the hearts of people through her roles in ‘Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year’, ‘Ishaqzaade’ and ‘Game’, Gauhar Khan has come a long way.

In the city for the promotion of her upcoming film ‘Fever’, the actor talks to Mallika Jesudasan about the film, acting and more.
 
You have been a model and then made a shift to mainstream acting. How has it been so far?

Being a top model was great, but doing only that, I felt my talents were not being fully utilised. That’s when I wanted to become an actor and showcase my talents to the best of my ability. It has been great so far. I have enjoyed working in mainstream cinema and with these wonderful actors (cast of ‘Fever’). I am living my dream! (smiles)
 
What are your expectations from the film?

I hope people will watch the movie and enjoy it as much as we have loved being a part of it. I want people to love me and my role in the movie.
 
It isn’t the first time that you are acting in a suspense thriller. How has it been this time around?

I have enjoyed shooting the film in Switzerland. We needed a quieter place away from the Swiss Alps and other tourist spots. The shots were brilliantly taken and the story has been well-scripted. The storytelling, specially crafted by Rajeev Jhaveri, is the hero, and I have really loved working in the film.

What do you do in your free time?

I hit the gym. It’s my comfort zone. I love gymming, especially lifting weights. I also like to travel, eat out and watch movies.
 
Three things that can be found in your purse at any time.

My perfume, my phone and my makeup (mascara and compact). Those are the constants.  

Your philosophy in life.

Never underestimate anyone. That’s the one thing I have learnt over the years in the industry. You never know who is capable of what.
