Students must strive for excellence, says Governor

As many as 296 students from the MBA and MTech batches of PES University, Bengaluru were conferred their degrees at the first convocation of PES University on Saturday.

Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala presented gold medals to rank holders at the convocation ceremony. In his speech he advised students to follow the path of honesty and humility. He asked them to always strive for excellence. He emphasised that there is a need to realise the power of youth in India, and use them for technological and societal growth.

He also urged the students to remain focused in their scholarly pursuits and uphold the Indian values of righteousness and respect towards parents and teachers.

M R Doreswamy, University Chancellor announced plans of starting new academic programmes in commerce, economics, law, mass communication, media management and medicine. He also highlighted the achievement of the university which is indigenously developing a satellite that will be launched by ISRO in the coming months.
