Rajasthan Chief Secretary O P Meena’s wife has charged that he had abused their daughter when she was a teenager.

Geeta Singh Deo, a Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) officer posted in the Administrative Reforms Department, alleged in a press conference that her daughter (now 31) studying in London emailed the Rajasthan High Court regarding the incident in April, but the police took no action. She told the media that the letter had clearly mentioned the offences committed by Meena (a 1979 batch IAS officer) when their daughter was in school.
Meena dismissed the allegations as baseless saying he did not know when exactly he met his daughter the last time. In the letter which Geeta shared with the media, her daughter said: “My father used to enter my room and touch me in wrong places. I had to put up with some obscene treatment for two years. I used to cry throughout the night.”

She also said her father stopped molesting her when she mustered enough courage to tell her mother about the abuse. Geeta filed a case of domestic abuse against Meena in September 2015. The FIR said he beat her regularly for dowry. The RAS officer said no action had been taken despite the police complaint.

“After our daughter’s birth in 1984, my husband used to taunt me for not bearing him a son,” she said.

Geeta also said she wrote to the PMO saying Meena should not have been appointed chief secretary, a day before he took charge on June 30, 2016. Meena and Geeta got married in 1983 and are living separately for the past three years.
