The protesters demanded government set up an separate directorate pooling the funds remaining unutilised in various government departments, implementation of a permanent irrigation project to the drought-hit district, granting sites to Dalits and implementing schemes that would lead to financial uplift of the Dalits. DSS State organising convener Sudha Venkatesh and others took part in the dharna.
