Rs 2 cr for KSRTC depot upgradation, says MLA

Speaking at the Sarige Adalat organised by Gauribidanur depot here on Tuesday he revealed that the government, on the basis of recommendation of Dr Nanjundappa Committee on regional imbalances, has released a sum of Rs 2 crore for upgradation of the bus shelter and the depot in the town.

Calling upon people to make use of safe and affordable service provided by Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation, the MLA attributed the progress of the depot to the hardwork put in by the staff, he called upon them to ensure quality service to rural parts, students and senior citizens. He asked the officers to respond to public grievances at the earliest.

Participants at the Sarige Adalat submitted memoranda to the legislator seeking additional bus service to the rural parts.

Divisional Controller Jayaram, who spoke on the occasion revealed that a composite rural and urban service had been introduced by the Chikkaballapur taluk depot. People travelling to Bangalore by KSRTC buses are allowed to avail urban services free of cost.

People who purchase daily pass for Gauribidanur-Bangalore journey can travel by urban services (black and red boards), on that particular day, without paying any fare. The pass is priced at Rs 90 and available at Gauribidanur bus stand, he stated.
KSRTC officers Basappa, Basavaraj, Srinivasa Naidu, Town Police SI Suryaprakash and others were present.
