'Govindaraj diary' an unverified document: Cong

KPCC working president Dinesh Gundu Rao on Thursday termed the Govindraj diary as an unverified document and charged the BJP with having hatched a conspiracy to finish off the Congress.

“No agency or department of the government has confirmed the diary as an authentic document. The I-T department has not released the diary. Moreover, Govindraj (Congress MLC) has disowned the diary. It clearly shows that the BJP is behind it all,” he said on seeking his reaction to reports by a national news channel on the contents of the diary.

BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa had recently charged the Siddaramaiah government with having paid Rs 1,000 crore to the Congress high command and claimed that the payment is mentioned in a diary maintained by Govindraj. He had also charged Siddaramaiah with taking Rs 150 crore kickback for sanctioning steel flyover project in Bengaluru.
