A 28-year-old man was killed after his motorcycle crashed into a stone on a pavement at Indiranagara near Peenya on Sunday night.

The police said that the deceased is Mahendranath, a resident of Indiranagara, who owned an electrical shop near his house. The incident took place when Mahendranath was returning home after attending his friend’s birthday party.

As he reached Karihobanahalli near Indiranagar, he lost control of his bike and went over the pavement. He crashed into a stone and fell down. His friends, who were riding another bike, found him lying on the road and shifted him to a nearby private hospital where he was declared brought dead, the police said.

Mahendranath had sustained severe head injuries. The medical report is awaited to ascertain whether he was riding under the influence of alcohol. It was also found that he was riding rashly. As he fell down, the bike dragged him for around 20 metres. He was also not wearing a helmet, added the police.
