Parameshwara, Sood among 5 to attend security event in London

A five-member team from Karnataka’s Home Department will attend Security and Policing Home Office Event 2017, a three-day international seminar in London, starting March 7.

The team comprises Home Minister G Parameshwara, his adviser Kempaiah, Bengaluru Police Commissioner Praveen Sood, IGP (Central Range) Seemant Kumar Singh and Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Subhash Chandra.

“On the invitation of the British government, we are going there to study the use of technology in security and policing that will be showcased from around the world,” Subhash Chandra said. “We will have something more interesting to talk about and implementing technologies here after we attend the seminar and come back.”

It will visit certain facilities in London such as cyber security centre, incident response centre, command and control centre, etc. The seminar will have exhibitors from various parts of the world having expertise in offender management, policing and counter-terrorism, critical national infrastructure and cyber security.
