This was announced at a City hotel recently. The symbol of this award was also unveiled on the occasion. The trophy will symbolise a star. “By drawing inspiration from the past, we want to energise the present and herald the birth of the future,” said Prasad, proprietor of Innovative Film City and the man behind this concept.

Ambareesh, the brand ambassador for the awards, felt that the awards may encourage young talents to work with higher dedication and perfection. “The industry has been seeing talented artistes since its inception, but only few have received recognition. In order to identify the skills, both on screen and off-screen, these awards have been incorporated,” he said.

Jayamala, the KFCC chairperson, said, “South Indians are neglected in many award- giving ceremonies though we produce the maximum number of films. But I hope this award will recognise talented personalities.”

Producer Rockline Venkatesh said, “We assure that it will be a memorable moment for all the people associated with the industry and we will bring it up to international standards.” “We got a huge response when we started the Innovative Film City in 2005 and it inspired us to come out with these awards. We want to give something new to the industry,” revealed Prasad and disclosed the nomination process.

“An advisory committee, consisting of representatives from each section of the industry, will select the best one in nearly 40 categories. Even public can participate in choosing the right candidates for popular awards through SMSes and public voting,” he said.
