IBM launches centre of excellence

A release from GIT here said IBM announced its collaboration with GIT, to help them train and build a skilled resource base on leading software technologies. It also opened a Centre of Excellence (CoE) at the Department of Computer Centre with the aim of providing world class skills to students on IBM Technologies.  

IBM organised Develothon 2010 - a IBM programme aimed at helping the software developer community in India develop skills in newer technology areas at GIT on Thursday.

“The company is organising a 32-city road show and integrates with its developer Works forum, known for extensive skill coverage and software evangelisation. During Develothon 2010, resource persons from IBM briefed about cloud computing and web 2.0, smarter planet,” the release said.

The Memorandum of Understanding between IBM and GIT was signed during the event. Himanshu Goyal, Country Manager - Academic Initiative, Developer Works and Globalisation IBM Software India, South Asia, KLS chairman A G Kulkarni, Governing council chairman U N Kalkundrikar and principal Dr A S Deshpande were present, the release added.
