Cong's introspection meet from May 22

The State Congress will embark on a five-day introspection exercise from May 22 in Bengaluru to strengthen the party and improve the organisational structure.

Addressing a press conference in Bengaluru on Friday, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) working president Dinesh Gundu Rao said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, KPCC chief G Parameshwara, district unit presidents, MPs, legislators AICC representatives among others will participate in the meeting.

“The chief minister has said that he will dedicate all the five days to discuss party affairs and strategies to be adopted for the 2018 Assembly poll,”  Rao said. He said an action plan to publicise the achievements of the state government, during the last four years, to the people will be drawn. He rubbished the allegations made by certain BJP leaders from the B S Yeddyurappa camp that the Congress is instigating former deputy chief minister K S Eshwarappa to rebel against the party. “Infighting is nothing new in the BJP. Why should we interfere in the affairs of the BJP?” he asked.

He said Yeddyurappa’s admission that RSS functionary B L Santhosh is the mastermind behind the rift in the party was an admission that the RSS controls the party. BJP leaders have been misleading the people by stating that the RSS does not interfere in the affairs of the BJP, he pointed out. To a question whether the Congress is going to benefit  because of the rift the BJP, Rao replied in the positive. He said, “Why not? They are offering it on a platter with their infighting.”
