The lady IPS officer, who, had been publicly rebuked by a senior BJP legislator in Uttar Pradesh's Gorakhpur town on Sunday bringing tears to her eyes, took to social media to express her feelings.

''Mere asoouon ko meri kamjori na samajhana......mahila adhikari hoon, tumhara gurur na dekh payega...sacchai me jor itna apna rang dikhlayega'' (Don't take my tears as sign of weakness....your (MLA) arrogance will not allow yo to see that I am a lady officer....truth will prevail one day), additional superintendent of police Charu Nigam said in a post on her Facebook page.

She said that her training had not taught her to be weak. ''I just did not expect that my SP city Ganesh Saha would outrightly reject the irrational argument (MLA's) and talk about my injury....when sir came and stood by the force, I got emotional,'' Nigam writes.

''Media has taken this stand because everyone of them saw both the incidents and this shows the positivity of media .....I am thankful to them to have shown the truth with least manipulation,'' the officer said.

''I believe that good gets good and that's why I have got the support of the media....please stay calm! I am fine and slightly hurt nothing to be agitated or worried about,'' the IPS officer wrote further.

Nigam was seen wiping off her tears after Radha Mohan Das Agarwal, the BJP MLA from Gorakhpur town, rebuked her in the presence of a large number of people, including senior district officials.

Agarwal, however, justified his outbursts at Nigam and accused her of using ''brute force'' against ''pregnant and old women'' in a bid to evict them from the middle of the road. The women had been protesting against sale of illicit liquor.

The MLA was heard yelling at Nigam, when the latter tried to clear the roadblock as it had led to a traffic jam.

''Every one has the right to cry....but what about the tears of the pregnant and old women who were brutally beaten by the cops,'' he said on Monday.

Congress and Samajwadi Party (SP) have decried the incident and demanded action against the MLA.
