Two killed as bus overturns at Charmadi Ghat

Two persons were killed when a private bus overturned on the third curve of Charmadi Ghat stretch, on Tuesday. According to Superintendent of Police Bhushan G Borase, the deceased are Hajiba (40) and Mehabunni (47), residents of Ananthapura district in Andhra Pradesh. About 40 persons have suffered injuries, of whom 11 have been shifted to Mangaluru for further treatment. Brake failure in the bus is said to be the reason for the mishap.

Journey
The residents of Thadipatri Ramesh Reddy Colony in Ananthapura district were on a tour to religious places when the mishap occurred. They were travelling from Bababudangiri in Chikkamagaluru to the Ullal Dargah. The injured, who have been shifted to Mangaluru for treatment, are Babisha (50), N Khader Basha (55), Fathima (5), Bugrabi (60), Haji (30), Bashiran (30), Sher Khan (50), Iran Pasha (40), Umran (40) and Jiban Basha.

The other injured, who have been admitted to hospital in Belthangady, are Sadagni (38), S Sameer (3), Rihan (6), Mehran (5), Sajida (28), Gausia (45), Mamchand (23), Dada Khalander (37), Bahupur Khan (27), Beebi (38), Shahina (9), Gulzar (25), Masood (2), Mabasha (20), Sakshabi (20), Himabi (30), Sameer (6), Sakeela (230, Shikshavubi (27), Shabas (17), Jaffer (18), Khalander (55), Manivi (70), Irfan (5), Hussain (16), Shabeer (16) and Shahid (11). The superintendent said that the district administration will make arrangement for their return journey to Ananthpura.
