BJP celebrates Modi government's fete

State BJP workers on Friday celebrated the completion of three years of the Narendra Modi government in office by bursting firecrackers and distributing sweets in front of the party headquarters here.

Former minister Aravind Limbavali led the low-key celebrations. BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa is away in Gadag. The celebrations will continue till June 15, with the party organising conventions in 40 places across the state.

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will be attending the first such convention in Bengaluru on Sunday evening.

While their arrival dates are yet to be finalised, the party central leadership had deputed the following leaders to visit the state in the coming days: Union Power Minister Piyush Goel, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, Union Minister of State for Law P P Chaudhary, party sources said.
