Certificate course in mine surveying

According to a press release, the aim of the course is to train candidates to appear for Mine Surveyor’s examination. Surveyors are needed in every mine as per mining legislation and plays an important role in carrying out accurate field survey, preparation of mine plans/ sections and is responsible for direction of mine and mine workings. He is also responsible for carrying out other jobs which are required by Mines Act and Mines Regulations. The candidates must have passed II PUC or intermediate (with PCM)/BSc (with Mathematics as one of the subjects)/ITI (civil). The candidates should also have a good knowledge of English.

The course contents include chain surveying, compass surveying, levelling, theodolite traversing, contouring, curve surveying, problems on bore holes, fault and dip, practical/laboratory classes, basic concepts of remote sensing and GIS. The last date for sending registration form in June 15.
