The Ramanagaram police are on the lookout for a man who threatened to kill Art of Living (AoL) founder Sri Sri Ravishankar.

The suspect, believed to be a resident of Mysuru, on his Facebook post on June 1, wrote in Kannada that Ravishankar should be shot dead for his remarks against government schools.

The post was found on the Facebook wall of a person identified as Harohalli Ravindra, said to be a Mysuru-based post-graduate student.

Ravindra’s post went viral and was also circulated among AoL members. AoL did not take the threat lightly and lodged a complaint with the police, said Nikhilesh Shenoy, administrator, The Art of Living International Centre.

Based on the complaint, the police registered a case under IPC Section 507 (criminal intimidation by an anonymous communication) against an unidentified person.

“We will take cybercrime experts’ help and arrest the suspect at the earliest,” Krishna Kumar, police inspector, Kaggalipura police station told DH.
