Thieves strike gold as couple snore

The incident occurred at the residence of Rohini and Ravindra Reddy Chella in Anand Nagar near Hebbal.

According to the police, thieves decamped with the valuables by reaching out to the unlocked cupboard through an open window, while the couple slept in the bedroom of their first-floor house.

Rohini had kept her vanity bag, containing 302 gm gold jewellery, Rs 10,000 and 15 blank cheques in the cupboard close to the window of their bedroom.
By the time the couple heard the sounds and reacted to it, the thieves had fled.
Registering a case of house burglary under Sections 380 and 457, Hebbal police have started the investigation.
