An 18-year-old youth’s body was found at KIMCO junction in Byatarayanapura on Mysuru Road in the wee hours of Thursday. The victim was identified as Sultan, a resident of Shamanna Garden.

Sultan’s father Akram Pasha complained to the Byatarayanapura police that his son was knocked down by an Indica car. The police recovered a knife which Sultan had concealed in his waist.

The police also learned that between 6 and 7 am, an Indica cab driver identified as Guraiah, lodged a complaint with Chandra Layout police station stating he was robbed of his mobile phone by three men, one of whom threatened him at knife-point. One of them is suspected to be Sultan.

However, Pasha maintained that his son was killed in a road accident and Guraiah was trying to mislead the police.

The Byatarayanapura police have registered a case of 304-A – accidental death caused by rash and negligent driving and the Chandra Layout police have registered a case of robbery. “We have taken up two separate cases and our men are investigating,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) M N Anucheth told DH.
