JOIN USThe Rajarajeshwari Nagar police arrested a 21-year-old man, who strangled his father and crushed his head with a boulder on Monday.
The incident took place over a trivial row at Bangarappa Nagar near Rajarajeshwari Nagar.
The suspect has been identified as Abhishek. The police also arrested Abhishek's friend Revanna (22), on the charge of colluding with Abhishek to kill Kantharaju (55).
According to the police, the deceased was a former security guard at a private college. He had quit his job three months ago. Being a habitual drunkard, Kantharaju used to harass his family members.
On Monday night, Abhishek and Revanna planned to murder Kantharaju who left home in an inebriated condition. The police said the suspects, who followed him, strangled him with a towel and later crushed his head with a boulder.
The police found that Abhishek and Revanna were last seen with Kantharaju and apprehended them for questioning. The two confessed to the murder during interrogation. The police have registered a case of murder and have taken them into judicial custody.
