Take selfie with Indira Canteen, qualify for Rs 1 lakh prize

In order to popularise the controversial Indira Canteens, the Siddaramaiah government has now proposed a unique plan: A competition called "Selfie with Indira Canteen" with a prize of Rs 1 lakh.

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has organised this contest to draw people to the canteens.

To participate, citizens should download the Indira Canteen mobile application, where one can get information about the canteen, menu and addresses of nearby canteens and more.

"In the app, there will be an option called "Selfie with Indira Canteen" where one can take a selfie in front of the canteen and upload it with the caption through the app. The lucky one can win Rs 1 lakh," said BBMP commissioner N Manjunath Prasad.

BBMP authorities will judge the caption and announce the name of the winner.

The app will be released on August 13 by Bengaluru Development Minister K J George.
