More than 2,000 customers have taken LPG connection from Kudremukh branch of Food and Civil Supplies Corporation.  The staff from the Corporation supply LPG to Kalasa every month.

Extra burden

Owing to the non availability of godown in the town has lead to lot of confusion.
As LPG cylinder is supplied to Kalasa from Kudremukh, the customers have to pay extra Rs 32.55 per cylinder.

To avoid the burden on the consumers, Food and Civil Supplies Corporation will have to build a godown in Kalasa. In fact, Revenue officials have recommended to sanction a piece of land at Ganapathykatte in Kalasa for the purpose two years ago.

However, many are urging the government to distribute the same land among poor, said Revenue Inspector Achyutha. A piece of land is available at Beedimane on Kalasa-Balehonnur road.

Revenue officials are likley to sanction the same.  Once Indian Oil inspects the land, the Corporation can carry out the work of the building.
