New SP assumes charge at C'Ballapur

The previous incumbent Ravindra Prasad has been transferred as SP for Karnataka State Reserve Police.Dr Pawar hails from Gulbarga and served as DySP at Mangalore in 1993. He later worked at Mandya, Mysore and Channapatana.

He was Additional SP for Chamarajnagar and Karwar. Pawar was also the deputy director at Police Academy and SP for Intelligence Services. He worked as SP, Chamarajnagar in 2009 and was shifted to KSRP.

Speaking to reporters, Dr Pawar said he would accord priority for maintaining law and order in the district. Strict measures will be taken to check illegal sand mining.
