<p>For the 13th edition of Dr Karantha Huttura Prashasti -2017, renowned actor, director Prakash Raj has been selected to be given the prestigious award during an event on October 10.<br /><br />Speaking at a press meet, working president of Dr Karantha Pratistana, Kota, Anand C Kunder said that the previous winners were associated with the life or ideologies of Dr Shivaram Karanth in one or the other way.<br /><br />The Kotathattu GP is organising a 10-day event as part of the award ceremony. The programme ‘Tambelaru-2017’ is organised on all the ten days where various conferences, plays, health screening, poet conference, children’s festival, workshops, seminars and film screening will be held. Yakshagana screening, Yakshagana ballets will also be staged on the occasion.<br /><br />The multilingual actor Prakash Raj, originally from Puttur, has proven his acting efficiency in Bollywood and films from all South Indian languages. Besides directing outstanding movies, he has also worked with renowned filmmakers in over 300 films. He has also won a National Award in 1998.<br /><br />Personalities like Veerappa Moily, Venktachala, K Ramkrishna Hande, Ravi Belegere, Girish Kasarvalli, Jayashree, Mohan Alva, Salumarada Thimmakka, Chittani Ramachandra Hedge, Jayanth Kaikin, Sadananda Suvarna, Dr B M Hegde are among others who had received the award earlier.</p>
