5 per cent of KMF profit to go-shalas

He was speaking after laying the foundation stone to the proposed Go-shala building at Hiresara village in Yallapur taluk on Sunday. Conservation of cows from the slaughterhouses is a holy work. Indian culture is a cow worship culture. But due to the influence of western culture the mentality of Indians has changed.

Amidst all pressures the BJP-led State government has passed cow slaughter prohibition bill only for conservation of cows, he added.  KMF has implemented insurance schemes for milk producing agriculturists. The scheme would provide insurance to milk producers, cows, even the houses of milk producers if they suffer damage, he said.

Reddy announced a donation of Rs 50,000 to the proposed Go-shala of Hiresara in the name of his parents. He also assured to provide government funds to the Go-shala.  With the financial assistance of the BJP government, the KMF has cleared a loan of Rs 23.22 crore of Dharwad Milk Union taken from National Dairy Development Board. KMF is the only milk federation providing milk at lower price of Rs 19 per litre. The price of milk per litre in Mumbai is Rs 24 and Rs 32 in Delhi, he said.
