Set for a new beginning

Actors Meghana Raj and Chiranjeevi Sarja have finally put the rumour mills to rest about their relationship. The actors are set to get engaged on October 22 at a five-star hotel in the city.

Sources close to the actors say that the duo didn’t want to talk about their relationship or marriage till things were finalised.

Given the fact that the marriage will bring together two prominent families from the entertainment industry, the engagement and wedding are expected to be a star-studded affair.

Meghana is a second generation actor and her parents, Pramila Joshai and Sundar Raj, ruled Sandalwood for decades. Chiranjeevi is the third generation actor from his family.

His grandfather Shakti Prasad was known for his ‘bad man’ roles, while his uncle Arjun Sarja is a multilingual star.

Sources say that the families of the couple were close and that’s what brought them together.

The actors were last seen acting together in ‘Aatagara’. Meghana and Chiranjeevi have been dating each other for the last ten years. They began seeing each other when they were in college and it has been a steady relationship since then.

“The two started off as good friends. The strong friendship between them is what led to love. They are most comfortable in each other’s company and this is also what has strengthened their bond,” say the sources.

Meghana and Chiranjeevi have been making elaborate plans for the engagement and wedding. Their outfits and jewellery for the engagement has been bought. Meghana will wear a dress designed by Inchara and Deepti and Chiranjeevi will slip into a suit.

Meghana will wear a diamond necklace and bracelet, by a leading jewellery brand.

“The rings that will be exchanged during the ceremony have been designed by Meghana and Chiranjeevi themselves. The designs that the couple have chosen will represent their character and depict who they are,” reveal sources. The couple has not finalised on the wedding date yet.

While the countdown to the engagement has already begun in both families, the guest list for the ceremony is still being made and the menu is still being finalised, confirm sources.

Actors Nazriya and husband Fahadh Faasil, Indrajith and his wife Poornima and Ananya have already confirmed their presence for the function.
