"I get angry quickly but in certain moments when decisions go against, we have to be patient or we might end up losing the match. Federer doesn't throw his racquet after losing, may be (Rafael) Nadal does, I don't know," she said when asked why she doesn't throw racquets when decisions go against her.

Asked if she throws her racquets to celebrate wins, Saina said, "I threw my racquet after winning the Indonesian Super Series. May be I will throw again if I can win this tournament."

Saina said whenever she gets irked her mom and coach pacify her."I'm short tempered so my mom keeps telling me to be cool. Even today Atik (Jauhari) sir was telling me to be cool through out the match," she said. She can floor opponents with her deft strokeplay and not many know that Saina had also learnt a bit of karate in her childhood.

Saina's mother Usha Nehwal said the shuttler had learnt martial arts in her school days.
"She was a good student and till class X, she did well in schools but she was also very good in badminton. So we encouraged her to pursue the sport," said Usha, who herself has been a badminton player.

"I used to tell her where she went wrong during her initial days but now she herself can figure that out, so she doesn't ask. She has been a good girl.
"She also learnt karate for two-three months," she added.
