Infosys co-founder N R Narayana Murthy and his wife, Sudha Murthy, chose Namma Metro over their car to reach Malleswaram, where the couple were scheduled to attend a programme.
Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) spokesperson U A Vasant Rao said that the couple lauded the trains and the stations for the cleanliness. "This definitely sends out a positive signal to the public about public transport." he said.
Infosys is also investing in Namma Metro's Phase 2 project through innovative funding. The Infosys Foundation has plans to fund the Electronic City metro station, which may cost about Rs 100 crore, in the proposed RV Road-Bommasandra stretch.
