Furry friends are a comfort for frayed nerves

Last Updated 25 November 2017, 19:21 IST

Whether you are feeling low or tired after a hectic day at work, four-legged therapists are ready to drive your stress away. Mojo (a Golden Retriever) and his friends visit homes, schools and offices to spend time with people to be cuddled and to bring some smiles to people's faces.

Dog cafes and pet boarding centres offer 'dog therapy' services wherein they offer to bring dogs home or let people visit their centres for a session of cuddling and fun that can drive their blues away.

"Canine therapy" uses dogs to promote healing in people with depression, stress and special needs. Dogs are trained to accept and comfort people thereby making them ideal therapy companions.

"We have a 'Supercharge Programme' under which we offer to take dogs to homes, corporate houses, schools and colleges," said Ankur Jain of Therpup pet cafe.

The pet cafe offers the services for a small fee.
