Return Shoaib's passport: HC

The Hyderabad police had on April 5 seized his passport and deposited it in a local court after Shoaib’s first wife Ayesha Siddiqui lodged a case of cheating against him for denying their marriage. This was to prevent the cricketer from leaving the country while police investigations were on.

The return of the passport has been facilitated after Ayesha withdrew her complaint against Shoaib following an amicable divorce of the couple achieved at the intervention by community elders.

The court order comes in response to a petition filed by Shoaib in the high court to fast-track the return of his passport that would have taken more than a week in the normal course of action.
