<p align="justify">The Mahadayi & Kalasa-Banduri Horata Samanvaya Samiti has called for a bandh of four districts in the Malaprabha command area on December 27, demanding immediate intervention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to resolve Mahadayi dispute through talks.</p>.<p align="justify">"There were huge expectations from Yeddyurappa, but they were belied. A mere letter by the Goa CM to Yeddyurappa would do nothing to resolve the dispute. The BJP, which did not respond to the demand all these years, has now played a political gimmick just for elections," samiti convener Rajanna Koravi said.</p>.<p align="justify">He told reporters that the bandh in Dharwad, Gadag, Bagalkot and Belagavi districts on December 27 would send a message to the prime minister that he should hold a meeting of the state governments concerned to resove the issue.</p>.<p align="justify">After a meeting here on Friday, the samiti office-bearers decided to hold a bandh and to communicate it to other organisations involved in the agitation in the region.</p>.<p align="justify">Terming Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar's letter to state BJP president B S Yeddyurappa as a mere eyewash, Mahadayi agitators in Hubballi opined that there ought to have been a formal meeting between the governments and an affidavit should have been submitted before the Tribunal.</p>
