Ex-mayors offer suggestions for Cong manifesto

Suggestions have been pouring in from former Mayors of Mysuru to include projects for the overall development of the city in the election manifesto to be brought out by Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) for the Assembly elections in 2018.

The suggestions include, prioritising tourism sector, protection and conservation of heritage structures, implementation of drinking water project at Undabatti, decision over revenue sites in the city limits, development of satellite town, outer ring road, relocation of sub-urban bus stand and central jail, constitution of Chamundi Hill Development Authority and increasing green cover in and around Mysuru among others.

Former mayor SPurushottam suggested to the committee, headed by former chief minister MVeerappa Moily, to give priority to drinking water problems in the city. Modamani, the first woman mayor of the city, stressed on resolving sewage farm issues and concentrate more on developing lakes in the city limits.

While TBChikkanna stressed on resolving the issues surrounded with revenue sites, RGNarasimha Iyengar suggested to the committee to include developing green cover and solar power production. Other suggestions included, rain water harvesting units at private layouts and development of underground drainage systems.
