The legacy of the late 'Thriller' hitmaker, who passed away from a drug overdose in June last year will be set to an acrobatic live show by the Canadian dramatic circus troupe, whom Michael was a keen admirer of, Contactmusic reported. The show will become a permanent fixture and will be staged in Las Vegas from 2012, after a deal brokered by the pop star's estate.

"Having attended Cirque du Soleil performances with Michael, I know he was a huge fan. We are excited to be partners with Cirque du Soleil to give Michael's fans a truly unique way to hear, see and feel Michael's music," John Branca, co-executor of the estate said.  The production will see a number of modern circus acts, such as trapeze and fire breathing, set in the backdrop of Jackson's music.

"Our family is thrilled that Cirque du Soleil will pay tribute to my son in such an important way," said Michael's mother, Katherine. The circus is not new to paying tributes to stars as it has earlier developed productions in the memory of Elvis Presley and The Beatles.
