He was speaking to reporters at Arsikere, Hassan district.

"The incident must not have taken place. All lives are important and the guilty must be punished. The police have already arrested four people and investigations are on. BJP is responsible for all the communal violence in the state. They are the ones spreading bitterness in society," the CM added.

"I have said that JD(S) will not come to power in the state; but not that JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda should not campaign," he added

Siddaramaiah denied the lung space denotification charge against him saying it is false," the CM said in response to the questions.

The CM suggested that Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar should submit an affidavit to the Mahadayi River Water Sharing Disputes Tribunal that the state is willing to release 7.56 tmcft of water to Karnataka.

"Parrikar and State BJP President Yeddyurappa are enacting a political drama and cheating the people of northern Karnataka," Siddaramaiah accused.
