Under the leadership of Srirama Yuvaka Sangha, Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project and various women self-help groups, villagers of Dabbadka village in Kanthabailu staged a protest in front of the DC's office on Friday.

Srirama Yuvaka Sangha treasurer Prajwal Bolthaje said that a memorandum was submitted to the district administration to repair the road in Dabbadka, which is a sub-village of Chembu village. But the road has not been constructed so far. The place is 10km away from Sampaje National Highway. The connecting road is in a pitiable condition and the Public Works Department has totally neglected the road, he added.

700 people live in the village, he said and warned of boycotting the upcoming elections if the problem is not solved within March 31.

Sri Rama Yuvaka Sangha president Jagan Kaverimane, secretary Ajith P D, members Yatish Kedambadi, Girish Hosuru and Prashant were present.
