Man reunites with family after 17 years

A man, who went missing 17 years ago from his hometown Shivaganga district in Tamil Nadu, was reunited with his family on Friday.

Muthu, aged 53 years, was rescued by Br Joseph Crasta and team of Snehalaya at Manjeshwar in Kasargod on March 30, 2014. He was found eating from a dustbin beside a highway in Mangaluru.

After psychiatric treatment at Yenepoya Hospital, he was admitted to Snehalaya Psycho Social Rehabilitation Centre for men.

He has been with Snehalaya for the last three years. Muthu went missing since 17 years from his home.

His parents are no more. His wife Pushpalatha, a homemaker and two sons are working. His family had filed a case at police station soon after he went missing. As they could not trace him, the members thought that he was no more, until they received a letter from Snehalaya.

On Friday, his brother and family members visited Snehalaya and took him home.
