A coaching centre started by former IAS officer K Shivaram to impart free coaching for aspirants of competitive examinations has become a topic of discussion in the city with many seeing a hidden agenda behind the timing of starting the centre.
Shivaram has been preparing to contest from Malavalli for the upcoming elections from BJP and his sudden move to start a free coaching centre has drawn flak.
BJP, which had failed to open its account even at the ZP level in the history of the district, has now started spreading its roots at Malavalli, Srirangapatna after Channapatna MLA CP Yogeshwar expressed his willingness to contest from Maddur Constituency.
When contacted Shivaram said, "The youths had been urging me to open a training centre during my visit to the villages. There is no political gain behind the centre," he clarified.
