The Chikkamagaluru police have arrested the prime accused in the Mudigere student Dhanyashree suicide case. The arrested is Santhosh (20), a resident of Badaga Kajekar in Bantwal taluk of Dakshina Kannada district and a lift mechanic by profession. He was arrested in Bengaluru.
Santhosh had a WhatsApp chat with Dhanyashree in Tulu language and he had forwarded the same (screenshot) to Hindu activists. He had also threatened Dhanyashree's parents over the phone, according to a press release issued by SP K Annamalai.
Mudigere Police Sub Inspector M Rafeeq and ASI Venkatesh led the team which arrested the accused. Two more teams have been formed to arrest the other accused.
