'Helping poor is like worshipping God'

Helping poor is like worshipping God, said Paryaya Pejawar Mutt seer Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swami.

He was speaking after inaugurating the Eastern Block Of Skill Develop Wing At Sri Krishna Bala Niketana Kukkikatte in Udupi.

He said, "God can be worshipped in two ways, either by offering flowers, tulsi, slokas and aarthi or by helping the poor and needy. MP Rajeev Chandra Shekhar has chosen the second way. Everyone in the world has to pay taxes in one or the other way to the government, similarly, it is compulsory to pay some taxes to God through social service."

MP Rajeev Chandrasekhar said, "It was the most emotional moment of my life. I did not expect any honour for my work. This would be the inspiration to me to do more and more social service."

He recalled his visit to Krishna mutt years ago and also narrated how he bought a locket from Car Street while he was studying engineering at MIT Manipal 32-years-ago.
