<p class="title">The lawyers of Srinivasapur, on Tuesday, boycotted court proceedings and burnt an effigy of Gounipalli sub-inspector Vikas Gowda who carted away in a private car, two under trials brought to court.</p>.<p class="bodytext">They demanded legal action against PSI Vikas Gowda for flouting norms.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Senior counsel K Shivappa told reporters PSI Vikas Gowda had illegally taken away two under trials Seenamma and Bachanna in a private car and assaulted them. </p>.<p class="bodytext">"The PSI has also lodged a complaint against the advocate who questioned him. Gowda, who came to the court premises in plain clothes (mufti) took away the under trials without a warrant. The PSI must be suspended," Shivappa demanded. </p>.<p class="bodytext">Shivappa said that a complaint about the incident had been filed with the Superintendent of Police demanding action against PSI Vikas Gowda for the illegality. The boycott would continue he added. </p>.<p class="bodytext">Former president of the Advocates' Association P R Venkatareddy spoke and urged senior police officers to ensure that no such incident occurs in the future. </p>
