Critic Dr Giraddi Govindaraj has expressed concern that murders being committed in the name of religion and politics in the state.

It is dangerous that guilty are not punished despite conducting probes, he told media persons here.

Govindaraj said the perpetrators of researcher Dr M M Kalburgi's murder have not been traced even after two years. Upset, his family has approached the Supreme Court. The investigation of journalist Gauri Lankesh murder case is also going the same way, he regretted.

He said Goa water resources minister Vinod Palyekar has visited the state surreptiously. His statement reflects it and it is condemnable, he said.

Govindaraj said Congress and BJP leaders are into politics in this aspect. Congress president Sonia Gandhi has said in Goa that not even one drop of Mahadayi will be released. But why are the Congress leaders are making tall claims here, he wanted to know.

Even BJP, after assuring the people of getting water, has proved their aspirations false, he criticised.
