'Guruvandana' on Jan 19

As part of its 32nd anniversary, Nrithya Bharathi classical music and dance institution will organise 'Geetha Namana' and 'Guruvandana' in honour of Guru and Nrithya Bharathi Director Geetha Saralaya at Town Hall on January 19.

Addressing reporters here on Tuesday, Nrithya Bharathi Director Rashmi Chidanand said that around 12 dance troupes from across the state will perform from 3 pm to 8.30 pm. All 12 troupes will be led by the disciples of Geetha Saralaya.

The disciples of Geetha Saralaya will felicitate her on the occasion. Saralaya is witnessing the second generation of her disciples, she said.

Dance guru Ullal Mohan Kumar will do the Nataraja Vandana. Karavali Group of Colleges founder president S Ganesh Rao will inaugurate the programme. A J Hospital Chairman Dr A J Shetty, Karnataka Bank General Manager B Chandrashekhar Rao, Kannada and Culture Department Assistant Director B Chandrahas Rai, Kannada Sahitya Parishat former president Harikrishna Punaroor and entrepreneur Ratnakar Jain will be the guests on the occasion.

Organiser Sudhakar Rao Pejavar, Ramya Chandra, Preethika Abhishek Rao and Pramod Alva were present at the press meet.
